		| Getting Finger Amputees Back to Work Workplace amputations involving the finger account for 90% of all nonfatal injuries, translating to an estimated 21,000 amputations occurring at work each year in the US. Research shows that those with partial-finger and hand amputations wind up experiencing more mental health issues, more pain, and less function than a forearm amputee. Further, two out of every three traumatic amputations is a finger, with 75% of heavy manual laborers unable to return to the job they held when they experienced their amputation(s). NPChampion Ambassador Jaime Perkins, a YouTube celebrity with more than 600,000 subscribers, will join us in this discussion to talk about his very public journey after his traumatic amputation. Thanks to a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, Jaime was able to return to his work and the activities he enjoys.  . |
